A woman died at a hospital after a crash on the North Freeway in the Spring area early Sunday, authorities said. The Harris County Sheriff's Office said deputies were dispatched to the 18200 block near Parramatta Lane at about 1:30 a.m.

Investigators said Laine Cramer was driving a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta in the southbound lanes when she did not stay within a single lane. The sheriff's office said the car hit several delineators and an impact attenuator before turning around on the roadway. The office said Jesus Duarte was driving a 2025 Jeep Cherokee in the southbound lanes when it struck the right side of the Volkswagen.

Officials said Cramer was taken to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Authorities said Duarte showed no signs of intoxication and was released from the scene. All southbound lanes were closed during the investigation. The lanes reopened and the scene was cleared at around 5 a.m. The sheriff's Vehicular Crimes Division is leading the ongoing investigation.
