Michele Van Stavern will serve four more years as Kendall County's Precinct 1 justice of the peace, a post she has held since 2021, after the Nov. 3 General Election. Van Stavern, 49, is a Republican.

Van Stavern received 4,095 votes to Wolfe's 1,560, or 72.4% to 27.6%, according to the reported totals. Election Day votes were included in those totals. Van Stavern holds a master peace officer license and a bachelor's degree in judicial administration. She was appointed to the post in 2021 and ran unopposed in 2022.

The story said Van Stavern's win on the Republican ticket was not typical, as Democratic candidates won many races across Texas and the nation on Nov. 3. The results were described as a "blue tsunami."
