Seabrook City Council voted 6-1 at its Nov. 3 meeting to postpone a decision on a proposed four-year strategic plan. The plan would guide the city's development and initiatives over the next four years. Council members were scheduled to vote on adopting it at that meeting.
The proposed plan sets municipal goals in six focus areas: organizational excellence; fiscal stewardship and transparency; infrastructure and community investment; economic development and sustainable growth; communication, engagement and public trust; and quality of life.
Council member Angela Cervantes voted against postponing. Council member Melanie Deemer asked for more time to compare the city staff's proposed plan with notes from a July planning retreat the council attended. Mayor Jim Sweeney said the vote will now take place at an upcoming Nov. 27 meeting.
