Webb County voters turned out in record numbers during early voting, according to the county. The Webb County Elections Office recorded more than 46,000 early ballots, including more than 6,000 cast on Friday, Oct. 30. Elections Administrator Jose Luis Castillo had estimated turnout would be between 42,000 and 43,000 voters.
Castillo said he expects about 15,000 more voters to cast ballots on Election Day. Voters can go to any of the county's 39 polling locations, which are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Voters must present an approved photo ID at the voting booth. Ballots are available in English and Spanish.
Castillo said all voting equipment is ADA-compliant and that no unusual issues arose during early voting. Voters who need language assistance may bring their own translator or contact the elections office in advance. If lines stretch out the door at a polling location, staff will post the three closest alternative sites out front.
