UIL high school volleyball playoffs begin Thursday, and teams across Texas are aiming to reach their state tournaments. The Austin American-Statesman profiled seven Central Texas teams and 23 players covering all positions.

The list includes Anderson, Georgetown, Lake Travis, Liberty Hill, Round Rock and Westlake. The paper said Anderson (29-6) faces a tough first-round matchup against Hendrickson in Class 5A Division I. Georgetown (40-5) went 2-set-or-fewer losses in winning District 23, and the paper named Florida commit Amelia Albright as one of the area's best players.

Lake Travis (38-6) enters the playoffs after a four-set win over rival Westlake, and the paper pointed to San Diego State commit Gentry Barker. Liberty Hill (42-5) did not drop a set in winning the District 16-5A title. Round Rock (32-11) and Westlake (36-9) shared the District 25-6A title with Lake Travis.
