La Porte defeated Dayton 3-2 on Thursday night in a Region 3-5A bi-district volleyball playoff match at Deer Park High School North Campus. The two teams played four games without a winner, so a fifth game was needed.
Dayton won the fourth game 25-22. In the fifth game, Dayton took an early 3-0 lead, with a kill by Ariya Burrell. La Porte then scored eight straight points, which gave it the win and a spot in the second round.
