Nichole Noble, the mother of rapper Melvin Noble, known as MO3, testified Tuesday at the capital murder trial of Dallas rapper Markies Conway, known as Yella Beezy. Noble said she gave Dallas police four names she believed could be involved in her son's death. On Tuesday she identified Conway as one of them. Her son, 28, was shot on Interstate 35 in Dallas in November 2020.

Conway, 35, has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors say he hired a gunman to kill Melvin Noble. If convicted, he faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. Kewon White, identified as the shooter, was convicted of capital murder last month.

In opening statements, prosecutor Tommy Adams said the evidence would come in pieces and asked jurors for patience. Conway's lead attorney, Toby Shook, said investigators developed "tunnel vision" and pursued a theory the evidence did not support. Shook said the state's case has gaps that would require jurors to make assumptions.

The jury has nine men and three women. One juror was excused Tuesday for a family matter and replaced by an alternate.
