Dallas police said Tuesday that a second teenager has been arrested in a shooting that wounded six people outside a party near Old East Dallas on Oct. 4. A 16-year-old was arrested Oct. 14 and faces six counts of aggravated assault, according to an updated police news release. Police did not name the teen.

Police confirmed Monday that Martin Padilla, 17, had been arrested Oct. 20. Dallas police spokesman Corbin Rubinson said Tuesday that one of the six initial aggravated assault counts against Padilla was dropped. Online jail records show Padilla was in the Dallas County jail with bail set at $600,000.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit for Padilla, the shooting began shortly after 3 a.m. after a group of people argued with security guards at the party and was told to leave. The affidavit says people in an SUV driven by Padilla then exchanged gunfire with the guards. Police said none of the six wounded people had life-threatening injuries. The affidavit says one security guard told investigators that Padilla was among those firing from the SUV. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
