Conroe ISD police said Monday that Genna Bentley, a 17-year-old from Magnolia, had been found. Officials said she was healthy and unharmed. Her family told police she had never run away before.
Bentley was last seen at Grand Oaks High School around 12:50 p.m. on Oct. 8, after she walked away from the campus. Police said documents she left behind indicated she wanted to reach the Oregon/Washington area and possibly cross into Canada.
According to the department, individuals she was staying with recognized a copy of the district's missing persons flyer and contacted authorities, leading to her location. The department said the investigation into the circumstances of her disappearance is ongoing and that no additional information would be released at this time.
