Houston firefighters were sent to Terminal C at George Bush Intercontinental Airport around 4:20 p.m. Tuesday after reports of a fire, according to an agency official. The Houston Fire Department sent several units, and firefighters were still at the scene as of 5:30 p.m.
The cause and severity of the fire are not yet known. Houston Airports said on social media that the fire started at a restaurant. The agency said passengers in the immediate area were moved as a precaution and that it will provide updates as they become available. Houston Airports also said no flight cancellations have been reported because of the fire and that flights are operating normally at other terminals.
