A proposed hotel occupancy tax would be set at a maximum rate of 2.0% to help finance the Odessa Sports Complex project. If approved, the city's total hotel occupancy tax rate would rise to 17.0%.
Another measure would amend the City Charter to state that the city lies within both Ector and Midland counties. A separate proposal would authorize the City Council to approve monthly pay for members, not to exceed $4,000 per month for the mayor and $2,000 per month for other council members.
Two school bond proposals are also listed. One would authorize up to $76.625 million for school construction, land acquisition, new school buses and other district vehicles. The other would authorize $284,345,000 for the construction, renovation, acquisition and equipment of recreational facilities.
