Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton held a rally at The Angry Elephant in San Antonio ahead of Tuesday's midterm elections.
According to the report, Democrat James Talarico, 37, of Austin, is running neck-and-neck with Paxton, the Republican attorney general, in what the report calls the most expensive U.S. Senate race in the country. The report says some Republicans are concerned about tepid turnout in early voting. It also says control of the U.S. Senate could depend on the outcome in Texas.
Manny Garcia, a former executive director of the Texas Democratic Party, said the race is one of the most difficult political challenges in the world. "The whole world changes when you break through and win a statewide race in Texas," Garcia said.
