Harris County Precinct 4 is investing $80.2 million in 10 infrastructure projects, Commissioner Lesley Briones said at an Oct. 28 press conference. The money is awarded through the Places 4 People grant process, which pairs the precinct with local organizations on community projects.

According to the P4P website, the projects aim to reduce flooding, close connectivity gaps, improve access to parks and increase public safety. A county press release said the 2026 projects will benefit 525,000 residents. The work covers drainage, intersection and roadway improvements, sidewalks and trails. Awardees range from local municipal utility districts to the nonprofit Houston Parks Board.

Briones said the initiative has invested nearly $333 million in 69 infrastructure projects from 2024 to 2026. One roadway project along Westgreen Boulevard and West Little York Road is expected to ease daily traffic and give Cy-Fair ISD students an uninterrupted route to school. Cy-Fair ISD school board member Kendra Yarbrough Camarena called the project a "tremendous win for our community."
