The Dripping Springs High School volleyball team defeated Round Rock Stony Point High School 3-2 on Thursday, Oct. 29, in a UIL Class 6A Division II bi-district playoff game at Vista Ridge High School in Cedar Park. Dripping Springs won the first set 25-19, Stony Point won the next two 25-18 and 25-21, and Dripping Springs took the fourth set 25-20.
In the fifth set, Stony Point led 14-11 and was one point from winning. Senior Alexa Sandoval served and helped the Tigers win the set 17-15, the report said. Dripping Springs will play San Antonio Brandeis High School in the area round.
Sandoval said her teammates lifted her throughout the match. She also said the win was bittersweet because a close friend plays for Stony Point.
