Amanda Rodriguez won the San Marcos mayor's race with nearly three-quarters of the vote, defeating Ryan Thomason, according to unofficial results Tuesday night.
In San Marcos City Council races, incumbent Alyssa Garza defeated Jane Hughson in Place 3, and Heather Hunter won Place 4 over Shane Scott. Lisa Prewitt led the three-way race for Place 6.
Across Hays County, Democrats carried most contested races. Michelle Gutierrez Cohen received nearly 60% of the vote for county judge. The county reported 120,440 voters, or 58.94% of registered voters, and all 90 precincts had reported. The county's totals include only votes cast within Hays County and do not reflect districtwide or statewide results. Results remain unofficial until they are canvassed.
