Gina Hinojosa said she is humbled to be the next governor of Texas in remarks published after the election on November 4, 2026. She thanked supporters and said she was grateful for the support she received.

In her remarks, Hinojosa said voters in cities, small towns and communities across the state had answered. She said that in big cities, voters turned out in large numbers despite what she described as efforts to silence them with gerrymandered maps and closed polling sites. She also said voters across party lines were part of the result.

Hinojosa said she will take the oath of office in January. She said the governor's office belongs to all Texans and not to any party or donor.
