Fort Worth singer Cameron Smith has a new album, "In Lieu of Flowers: Live at Cabin Records." The 11 songs were recorded in July at Bluff Dale Cabin, a studio in Bluff Dale about 50 miles southwest of Fort Worth, according to the Fort Worth Weekly.

Smith, 38, said the record was meant to be raw and honest and to bring together the past and what was to come. Some songs date back two years, including "My Friend," which Smith said was inspired by the deaths of some of his beloved family members. Other tracks were finished in the studio.

Smith said the album's most personal songs include "Learning How to Use My Voice," which looks back on his early years in music. The tracks were mastered by Mark Randall at Blackstone Studio in Fort Worth.
