Hiro's Kitchen — Sushi and Sake is at 309 W Daggett Ave, Suite 101, in Fort Worth. The restaurant is open 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sundays and 5:30 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The space in South Main Village once housed a pottery studio. The restaurant has no large restaurant group or outside investors behind it, according to the Fort Worth Weekly.

Chef Hiroto "Hiro" Ochiai, originally from Niigata, Japan, trained at Jean-Georges Tokyo before moving to New York in 2017. There he worked at Sushi Amane and Shion 69 Leonard, where he was sous chef and beverage director. The article says the couple found it hard to get established in New York because of the cost of living there.

The couple met the owners of The Holly, an organic wine bar next door, while visiting a friend in North Texas. The bar's owners encouraged them to host pop-ups, which led to their own space. Hiro's Kitchen opened in August, and the couple now lives about a five-minute walk away. Hiro said people and the neighborhood have been welcoming to them.
