Texarkana Repertory Co. will stage six performances of Kate Hamill's adaptation of Jane Austen's "Pride and Prejudice" at Texarkana College's Stilwell Theatre. The run begins Friday and continues over two weekends, from Nov. 6 to Nov. 8 and from Nov. 13 to Nov. 15. Friday and Saturday shows start at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday shows start at 2 p.m.

TexRep Board President Nikita Alford said the production offers a fresh look at the 213-year-old story and leans into its comedy. Alford said the play follows a family of unmarried women working to secure a safe, "happy" life, and that the lead character's ideals create friction. Alford said the show explores expectations that remain relevant today.

General admission tickets cost $15. Tickets for seniors 55 and over cost $12, and Texarkana College students with a valid ID pay $5. Tickets are sold at texrep.org and at the door. Attendees who wear Regency-era-inspired outfits are automatically entered to win two tickets to "Peter Pan Goes Wrong," the next show in the TexRep season.
