Officers were called around 3:20 p.m. Thursday to a crash at E. Ledbetter Drive and S. Lancaster Road, near DART's Ledbetter Station in Dallas. A preliminary investigation found that police believe the driver of a gray sedan crashed into another vehicle after being shot. The driver was taken to a hospital, where he later died. A second person was also taken to a hospital, and that person's condition is unknown.
Dallas police are still working to determine who shot the driver and why. No arrests have been made.
The gray sedan ended up blocking DART Blue Line train tracks, causing delays near Ledbetter Station. Shuttle buses are carrying riders between the Ledbetter and VA Medical Center stations while police investigate. There is no word yet on how long the investigation will last.
