City of Waco offices will be closed Wednesday for Veterans Day. Wednesday's trash pickup moves to Thursday, and Thursday's moves to Friday. Waco-McLennan Library locations and the public health district will also be closed. Pet Circle Regional Animal Center will be open for adoptions and returns to owners. Cameron Park Zoo, the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame and Museum, Waco Mammoth National Monument, Cottonwood Creek Golf Course and Waco Transit System will remain open.
The city of Waco is temporarily changing the disinfectant in its water system from chloramine to free chlorine through Nov. 30, as part of its annual water system maintenance program, city officials said. The officials said the process helps maintain water quality. Water will remain safe to drink and use, though users may notice a change in taste or odor, including a stronger chlorine smell. Residents with home dialysis equipment, aquariums or other specialized water uses are encouraged to review guidance.
