The Laredo legal community gathered Thursday to honor 111th District Court Judge Monica Notzon, who is preparing to step down from the bench. The Laredo Bar Association hosted a retirement celebration attended by fellow judges, elected officials, attorneys, colleagues and longtime friends.
Notzon was first elected in 2010 to preside over the 111th District Court in Webb County. Before becoming a judge, she worked as an attorney in the local district attorney's office and spent years in private practice.
