The Smith County Sheriff's Office is searching for an inmate who escaped custody while being treated at a dialysis center in Tyler, according to the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office said the inmate, a Smith County Jail inmate, was being treated at the Fresenius Medical Care West Tyler Dialysis Center on West Erwin Street.
