Grain & Berry is coming soon to McKinney, owner Brittany Ellis said. The restaurant serves smoothies, juices, acai bowls, flatbreads and more, according to the company's website. The new location is planned for 160 S. Custer Road, Suite 100, in west McKinney, with opening expected in mid-January.
Ellis said she and her husband, a retired professional football player, decided to open a franchise after eating at one of the chain's locations while on vacation in Florida. Ellis said the restaurant uses real organic acai from the berry. She also said the service stood out to them and that they hope it will attract local customers.
