The Coolidge Yellowjackets will open their football season on Friday, Aug. 28, on the road against the Jonesboro Eagles. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
Head Coach Thomas Tritz said his players are eager for the season and have asked for more film to watch. He said Jonesboro will be a well-coached team. Tritz said Jonesboro made the playoffs last year and faced the two-time defending state champion Gordon Longhorns. When asked to describe his team in one word, Tritz said "hungry," and said the players believe they can win a district championship and make a deep playoff run.
Coolidge hosted two scrimmages and held a four-team scrimmage each week. Tritz said the team grew from one week to the next, especially on the offensive front line. He said the defensive front three still needs work. The first home game is Sept. 4.
