A coach found a stray bullet on the tennis courts at a Northlake middle school toward the end of the school day Wednesday, according to Northwest ISD. It is the third bullet found on the district's campus.

Superintendent Mark Foust told families in a letter that all outdoor activities at the rear of the school would be temporarily moved. Buses will temporarily drop students off on the west side of the building, and more changes to other outdoor activities are expected. Foust said the district would share more information when it is available.

The bullet was the first found since a temporary restraining order took effect against the nearby Quail Creek Gun Range. Foust said the range must keep bullets within its property and that the order remains in effect. He said the district is exploring all legal options. The district's safety and security department notified the Northlake Police Department, and officials swept the area with a metal detector. The district is also reviewing security footage.
