Harris County Precinct 4 Constable Mark Herman is asking drivers to stay alert behind the wheel after Daylight Saving Time ends on Sunday. Herman said that moving clocks back one hour can disrupt sleep schedules.
Herman said drowsy driving can be as dangerous as driving under the influence of alcohol. He advised drivers who feel too tired to pull over somewhere safe to rest, or to arrange another ride with a family member, a friend or a rideshare service. He also said drivers should wait until they are fully alert before driving again.
"No destination is worth risking your life or someone else's," Herman said.
