Credit Union of Texas (CUTX) will give out hundreds of turkeys and hams in Kilgore on Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is the second year the credit union has held the giveaway. It takes place at the CUTX Kilgore branch at 110 Midtown Plaza.
Turkeys and hams will be handed out on a first-come, first-served basis at the drive-through line. Community members can enter from Kilgore Street and follow signs reading "Turkey Giveaway Entry." The credit union is working with local food shelters and nonprofits on the event.
Eric Pointer, president and CEO of CUTX, said the holidays can be a financially stressful time for families. "A little extra support can make a big difference," he said.
