More than 100 employers are expected to take part in a veterans job fair on Tuesday, Nov. 10, at the Tyler Workforce Center, according to KLTV. Workforce Solutions East Texas will host the free event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1421 S. Beckham Ave. An opening ceremony honoring veterans will begin at 9:30 a.m.

The event is open to the public. It will offer opportunities for veterans, transitioning service members, military spouses and other job seekers. The Tyler fair is part of the Texas Workforce Commission's 15th annual Hiring Red, White & You! event series. Nearly 30 hiring events are scheduled across Texas from Nov. 2 through Nov. 20.

Doug Shryock, executive director of Workforce Solutions East Texas and a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel, said the knowledge, skills and abilities of veterans "make our communities stronger and more vibrant." The Texas Workforce Commission partners on the events with Texas Workforce Solutions, the Texas Veterans Commission and the Texas Medical Center.
