Zaxby's, a chicken chain based in Georgia, is set to open its first location in Kaufman on November 9. The restaurant is at 2204 S. Washington St.

The franchise is owned and operated by Adam Faust and GCT Franchising, according to the story, and is expected to create 60 new jobs for Kaufman residents. Jacob Riley, Director of Franchise Operations, said the team is grateful for the welcome it has received. The franchise has joined the Kaufman Chamber of Commerce and plans to work with area schools and organizations.

The 3,254-square-foot building has seating for 56 guests and a drive-thru lane. The story says traffic may increase near the restaurant during the first few weeks after opening. The location will also offer curbside pickup, app and website pre-ordering, and delivery through third-party services.

A grand opening event is set for November 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will include a DJ, a photo booth and a raffle. The first 50 guests in line will receive a free Big Zax Snak. Zaxby's was founded in 1990 and has more than 1,000 locations in 22 states, the story said.
