U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has confirmed that a man seen in a video of an apparent immigration-related detention in Midland is of Venezuelan origin. The agency said he was taken into custody Thursday.
The video shows the detention at about 12:09 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, in the parking lot of the Walmart on Loop 250 in Midland. The Mexican Consulate in Presidio helped obtain the information directly from ICE.
No details about the man's identity or the reasons for his detention have been provided.
