New Braunfels will hold its Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony downtown on Saturday, Nov. 7. The ceremony starts at 9 a.m. at the bandstand on the Main Plaza and will include remarks from local dignitaries and guest speakers.
The parade follows the ceremony. It begins at the staging area near the Elks Lodge, travels along South Seguin Avenue toward the Main Plaza, goes around the plaza and turns onto East San Antonio Street. Local veterans' organizations and floats from local nonprofit agencies will take part.
The parade will be led by Grand Marshal Retired Chief Warrant Officer (CW5) Gene Forester, a New Braunfels native who served 44 years in the Texas National Guard. Road closures begin at 7 a.m. and will reopen when the parade ends. A map of the route and more information are available at newbraunfels.gov/veteransday.
