Isolated showers are possible Monday night across Southeast Texas, according to FOX 26 Houston. The station said the cold front is also bringing a threat of severe storms and heavy rain to the northwest overnight, in places such as Dallas, Waco and Austin.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected Tuesday, Election Day, as the cold front moves through the Houston area. The forecast says some storms could bring brief heavy rain, strong winds and lightning, with the highest chance from late morning through late afternoon. The station put the tornado risk at 2% for northeast locations such as Livingston. It advised voters to check FOX 26's local forecast before heading out.

Cooler, drier air is forecast to arrive behind the front Tuesday night. The forecast calls for mostly clear skies Wednesday and Thursday, with brisk nights. Most areas in and around Houston are expected to reach highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s.
