A Port Aransas High School runner faced doubts about competing after stepping on hot coals at the beach.
Port Aransas High School senior Shane Stawar was set to begin his final cross-country season with Port Aransas ISD.
The season started with fears that he might not compete at all. Stawar stepped on partially buried hot coals at the beach on a Sunday.
