Hundreds gathered at Marker 35 to see the release of 28 rescued green sea turtles.
Hundreds of spectators gathered on the beach at Marker 35 in Port Aransas on Saturday, Oct. 17, to watch the release of 28 green sea turtles. The turtles were rescued and rehabilitated by the ARK, part of the University of Texas Marine Science Institute (UTMSI).
A volunteer with the Amos Rehabilitation Keep announced over a bullhorn that the turtles had left the ARK. The announcement drew cheers from the crowd.
