The Texas Tech University School of Music will hold its IGNITE! Performance and Gala on Friday, Nov. 6, at Buddy Holly Hall in Lubbock. The free IGNITE! performance begins at 8 p.m. in the Helen DeVitt Jones Theater and is open to the public.
The concert will feature School of Music ensembles, including the Symphonic Orchestra, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, University Choir, Mariachi Los Matadores, Steel Drum Bands and Jazz Bands. The IGNITE! Gala runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Grand Hall A & B at Buddy Holly Hall. A ticket is required for the gala, and supporter opportunities are sold out, according to the school.
This year is the fifth year of the IGNITE! concert. Last year, the School of Music performed a matinee for nearly 2,000 middle and high school students, and more than 1,000 people attended the evening concert.
