UMC is holding a "Shine a Light" event focused on lung cancer. The program will include presentations from providers at the TLC2 Foundation Cancer Center and talks from lung cancer survivors about their personal journeys.

Citing the American Cancer Society, the event's organizers noted that 226,650 new cases of lung cancer were estimated in the United States for 2025. Kathryn Crain, Director of Oncology at the TLC2 Foundation Cancer Center, said the event is meant to support patients and their families at every stage. She said the effort covers raising awareness, encouraging early detection, celebrating treatment milestones and honoring people who have died.

Survivors, patients, caregivers, family members and community supporters are invited to attend. The event is focused on education, hope and support.
