Democrat Alisa Simmons was elected Tarrant County Judge on November 3, defeating Republican incumbent Tim O'Hare, who had held the office since 2023. Simmons won 56% of the vote, or 402,291 votes, to O'Hare's 44%, or 311,040 votes. According to the report, no Democrat has won the office in 40 years, and no Black person or woman has previously held it.

The report said other Democratic wins in the 2026 elections shifted the Tarrant County Commissioners Court from a 3-2 Republican majority to a 4-1 Democratic majority. It also said O'Hare had backed a 2025 redistricting plan meant to increase conservative leadership on the court, and that he campaigned to eliminate nearly 100 county polling sites before the midterms.

Simmons said she wants to bring more transparency to the court after meetings in August and September about the polling site reductions. "Moving forward, I can guarantee folks will see more transparency," she said. Multiple people were removed from those meetings. Former Texas State Rep. Lon Burnham has filed a lawsuit against O'Hare following his removal from the court.
