Heath Library will host Covenants Creek Band on Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. as part of its Live! At The Library series. The Texas Hill Country band plays folk rock, rock, pop, soul and acoustic music. Lead guitarist Aiden Bowser and rhythm guitarist Andy Garcia are featured. The library suggests bringing a picnic supper and comfy seating, and dressing warmly, since it may be chilly.
A free workshop on book publishing runs Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It covers traditional, indie and self-publishing, and hybrid routes, along with costs and common pitfalls. Regional author April W. Gardner will lead it and sign copies of her craft books afterward.
The library has started a weekly adult crafting program called "Arts & Crafts Friday," with a different craft style each week. The following Friday's topic is paint pouring, led by Jacque Stensrud. In November, the Boerne Visual Artists group is showing paintings on the theme "Edge of Autumn" during library hours. The library will be closed Nov. 11 for Veterans Day and Nov. 26 and 27 for Thanksgiving, and it will reopen Nov. 28. Many services are available on its website or the MyLibro app, or by calling 830-249-3053.
