Democrats won Texas statewide offices in Tuesday's midterm elections. Attorney General-elect Nathan Johnson, a state senator and lawyer from Fort Worth, is among the winners.
Johnson is also credited with composing the full musical scores for 67 episodes of the English-language release of "Dragon Ball Z" and for five of the franchise's movies between 2005 and 2006. The English dub was produced by Funimation Productions, then based in North Richland Hills. At the time, Johnson owned a music production company. Speaking with the Texas Standard, he said his work as a composer helps him look at problems from different angles.
Johnson was first elected to the state Senate in 2018, representing the 16th District, which covers parts of Dallas County, and was re-elected in 2024. He defeated Republican State Rep. Mays Middleton in the attorney general race, receiving 52.4% of the vote to Middleton's 45.9%. Johnson will be the first Democrat to hold the Texas attorney general office since Dan Morales, who served from 1991 to 1999.
