Forney voters will decide Proposition A on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. The general obligation bond would fund a $49.5 million city-owned building that houses a library and a recreation center. The city would own the building. The city would run the library, and the YMCA would lease and operate the recreation center.

City officials estimate the tax impact at about 8 cents per $100 of taxable property value. The bond is repaid through property taxes. According to city documentation, bond funds would only pay for construction. Library operations would be covered by the city's general revenue. Recreation center programs would be supported by the YMCA, community partnerships and grants.

Mayor Jason Roberson released a statement emphasizing public participation in the vote. Early voting is scheduled from October 19 through October 30. Residents can check their registration status and polling locations on the city website.
