Authorities said Ricardo Medina-Rodriguez, 27, of Ben Wheeler, is back in custody. Officials said he slipped his handcuffs while receiving dialysis at Fresenius Kidney Care on West Erwin Street in Tyler on Thursday.
Authorities said he was found on foot around 8:38 a.m. Friday in the 8000 block of FM 314 in Ben Wheeler. He was wearing a white T-shirt, boxers and slip-on shoes from the jail. Officials said the orange jumpsuit he had been wearing was found in a nearby wooded area.
He faces a new felony charge of escape while arrested or confined, with a $1 million bond on that charge. His bond now totals $2 million for all charges, which also include online solicitation of a minor and sexual assault of a child.
