Mountain Valley Middle School teacher Jennifer Robinson received a $1,000 grant from Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC). PEC announced the 11 recipients of its Educational Spotlight Grants on Oct. 26.
PEC said the grants give educators support to turn creative classroom ideas into meaningful learning experiences. Robinson teaches AVID, which stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. She will use the funding to buy materials for an AVID design studio that helps students build college- and career-readiness skills.
PEC Community Outreach Specialist Kevyn Packer said the company looks forward to seeing teachers bring their ideas to life. Packer said the funds will help shape the next generation of PEC members and strengthen communities for years to come.
