Houston police are searching for a 35-year-old man accused of shooting his girlfriend several times at an apartment complex Saturday night. Police said officers responded to multiple reports of a shooting around 8:50 p.m.
Investigators said the suspect and the 39-year-old woman were in a dating relationship. Police said the woman was visiting the suspect's family at the complex when the two met in a courtyard. Police said the suspect shot her in the abdomen and leg, pushed her to the ground and walked away. The suspect's family members gave her aid until officers arrived.
The Houston Fire Department took the woman to a hospital in stable condition. Officers later found the suspect's vehicle abandoned a few blocks away. The man remains at large. Police have not released more information about the suspect or a possible motive. This is a developing story.
