The varsity volleyball team is preparing for district play. Coach Nicholas Tarr said the team has performed well but still has some areas to improve before district begins. He said the team will compete for a district title. Tarr said the whole team has stood out, especially when it plays aggressively instead of tipping too much. He believes that if the team plays its game and keeps its intensity up, it can compete for a top spot in the district.
Natalie Simmons also expressed confidence in the team. She said she hopes the team can advance past the playoffs and set a new record for games won. "I think we will hopefully get third in district and get a good place in the playoffs," Simmons said. She has earned MVP honors in all of the team's tournaments so far. She said the experience has shown her how important being a team player is during games.
As district competition approaches, the team is focused on improving and playing consistently. Tarr said Nocona will likely be the toughest competition, and he wants to see how the team responds when it faces them.
