Cravings on the Corner, at 1008 W. Main St. in Olney, has opened as the town's newest restaurant. Its menu includes Mexican dishes such as enchiladas, gorditas and fajitas, along with American fare such as burgers, chicken fried steak, wings, steaks, chops and salads.
Owner-operator Nancy Rosales said the restaurant gives her food truck customers, who often grab a quick lunch during breaks at Tower Extrusions, a place to sit down for a full meal. She said many of them had asked for a spot where they could bring their families. Rosales said she added American dishes to give diners more choices, since several Mexican restaurants already operate in Olney.
The restaurant is open Tuesday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Menudo will be served on Sundays while supplies last, along with conchas, a sweet bread usually sold on weekends. Rosales said her conchas are sweeter than traditional versions to suit local tastes. Details are available on the restaurant's Facebook page.
Rosales thanked the community for supporting her food truck and the new restaurant. She asked customers for patience as the restaurant gets established and the staff works through the challenges of opening a new business.
