Construction on the Immanuel Road widening in Pflugerville is set to begin in November, according to the city. The project will reconstruct and widen the existing two-lane road to three lanes from Pecan Street to Killingsworth Lane. It also includes curbs and gutters, intersection updates, street lighting, storm infrastructure and shared-use paths. The timeline is November 2026 to February 2028, and the cost is $22 million, funded by the city of Pflugerville.
Several projects are already underway. Work on the FM 685 at Kelly Lane intersection began Oct. 26, after the Pflugerville City Council approved a contract with Joe Bland Construction on Aug. 11. The $2.7 million project is expected to run from October 2026 to March 2027. Work on the Historic Colored Addition neighborhood is under active construction, with a full road reconstruction planned through July 2027 at a cost of $8.4 million.
Other ongoing projects include the widening of East Pflugerville Parkway to four lanes from Colorado Sand Drive to Weiss Lane, a $16.9 million project scheduled through November 2028. Trail users will face a closure on the southwest side of Lake Pflugerville Trail from Oct. 19 through January. At CR 137 and FM 1660, the Hutto Economic Development Corporation approved $617,000 more in October for materials after redesign efforts. That $9.1 million project includes additional lanes and a roundabout. Plans for SH 130 frontage road connections, with a $18.5 million cost funded by future city of Hutto debt, have no set timeline yet, though design was largely completed in late summer.
