The Prosper Town Council approved a $10 million contract with Mario Sinacola & Sons Excavating at an Oct. 27 meeting. The company is also building the extension of the Dallas North Tollway. Crews will repair several sections of northbound Dallas Parkway and the frontage road, which Hulon T. Webb Jr., the town's director of engineering services, said will prepare the road for traffic from the future tollway.
Of the contract, $7.2 million is for Dallas Parkway work. The town also approved a $98,700 design contract and a $113,035 contract for construction materials testing, bringing the total for the Dallas Parkway repairs to $7.5 million. The remaining $2.8 million is for improvements to Frontier Parkway near the future tollway underpass. With a $45,000 design contract, that project totals $2.9 million.
Webb said work on both projects is expected to start in late January or early February 2027 and has a 120-day timeline. Construction near intersections with First Street, Prosper Trail and Frontier Parkway will not affect east-west traffic, he said. Officials have not decided whether to spread out lane closures along Dallas Parkway or close the road all at once. "The intent is to do it as fast as we can with the least amount of disruption," Webb said. The newest segment of the Dallas North Tollway, from US 380 to FM 428, is set to open in late 2027, according to the North Texas Tollway Authority.
