The Bastrop County Sheriff's Office is searching for Abraham Salomon Chacon, believed to be 40, in connection with three fires over two days. Investigators said the fires occurred at the same residence on Oct. 17 and 18. Chacon is wanted on charges of first-degree felony arson and third-degree felony cruelty to animals, the sheriff's office said in a social media post on Oct. 20.

According to the sheriff's office, the fires destroyed the home and killed eight dogs, including puppies. Deputies said the first blaze killed the woman's pit bull terrier and seven 2-week-old puppies after first responders could not reach them. Bastrop County Emergency Services District No. 1 responded to the first fire. Firefighters returned twice on Oct. 18 after reports of more fires.

The woman told authorities she received threats from a man starting Oct. 14, and said an intruder broke into her home and assaulted her that night, according to the sheriff's office. She later told investigators she kept getting threats, including statements that the man intended to burn the home again. Deputies described Chacon as 5-feet-10-inches tall and 200 pounds.
