Former Uvalde Mayor Don McLaughlin lost his bid for a second term in the Texas House. According to the report, Democrat Cecillia Castellano won the District 80 race by 2,509 votes in the Nov. 3 general election.

McLaughlin carried Uvalde County, but Castellano received 2,730 votes there, the report said. McLaughlin said his commitment to the community that elected him mayor in 2014 has not changed.
